    Workshop

“In the beginner’s mind there are infinite possibilities. In the expert’s there are few.”

    – Suzuki

This year we have invited visual artist Sara Skorgan Teigen to hold a photobook workshop. During this time, Teigen will share her sketchbook practice, where all participants will bring their own pictures and will receive a blank sketchbook. There will be short, but intense hands-on exercises: drawing (to learn to see, not to draw well), making collages of your own image material to discover deeper aspects of your work and process, as well as an introduction to mind-maps and visual maps.

In addition, participants will receive initiation exercises that open up new ways of thinking about their projects and main medium, and that can give new energy to their daily artistic practice.

The sketchbook will be used as a tool to look at your own materials in new ways and create space for process rather than results. This way we open up to a more free and more playful encounter with our medium and daily work – a counterbalance to the inner critic, where the process is at the center and inspires new paths forward.

The course is suitable for all levels of photographers and photo-based artists, but has limited spots available and pre-registration is mandatory.

    Workshop with Sara Skorgan Teigen
