The Norwegian Association of Fine Arts Photographers is proud to present the 16th edition of Fotobokfestival Oslo (FFO), happening at Vega Scene from September 12–14. At its core, FFO has always been a vibrant celebration of the photobook as a phenomenon, delving into the many ways artists use the book format as a means of artistic expression.

FFO25 will see some structural changes from previous editions. This year, the festival will revolve around the book fair, which is a cornerstone in the distribution of both artist books and photobooks. It serves as an important platform for artists and publishers to communicate their work and to connect with broad audiences. These ephemeral moments connect you with kindred spirits on both sides of the table. FFO25 will include publishers from Norway and different parts of Europe, presenting newly published titles and quite possibly your next favorite photobook.

FFO25 will also offer opportunities for professionals and enthusiasts alike, involving a hands-on, practical workshop and one-on-one tutorials with photobook makers. From 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, there will also be presentations of newly published books.

In the week leading up to the festival, from September 8–11, there will be exciting events happening all over the city. Our satellite partners will host talks, guided tours, and book launches, helping to promote the rich and diverse photo art scene Oslo has to offer. Among this year’s confirmed partners are: FRAKT, Fotografiens Hus, MELK, Oslo Fotokunstskole, THE PHOTOBOOK, Tronsmo.

Last but not least, in FFF’s new Photobook Library, we are thrilled to exhibit the winner and the shortlisted candidates for the Hong Kong Photobook Dummy Award. This offers insight into the process of making books, before they reach their final form.

Join us at FFO25 for what promises to be an inspiring and connecting experience for anyone interested in photobooks. FFO25 is free and open for all. The full program will be launched in early August, so stay tuned for more updates.

The Norwegian Association of Fine Arts Photographers (FFF) was initiated and established in 1974, in a time when camera-based art sought to be acknowledged as an artistic medium. FFF has since become a nationwide members' association dedicated to focused efforts for its members via art politics and art education, and through communicating the importance of art photography in Norway.

Fotobokfestival Oslo 2025 is proudly sponsored by Norwegian Photographic Fund (Nofofo), Oslo municipality and Art Council Norway.
