2025 is all about the book fair, a cornerstone in the distribution of both artist books and photobooks. Here, we will gather publishers from Norway and different parts of Europe who will present newly published titles and quite possibly your next favorite photobook. Come by and say hi, browse through the rich selection of books, and find your newest title!

Below you can read more about this year's participants.

    Andrea Grundt Johns

For over 10 years I have been working with the book as a way of approaching sight through tactility, and explore the idea of seeing with other senses. My books are a combination of (riso)printed larger editions and handmade, unique and sculptural works. My work also explore our relationship to nature - how nature shapes us and how we shape nature - looking into the past and present as well as into a speculative future."

    Northing / kinakaal forlag

Northing-Centre for East Asian Art and Culture is a non-profit contemporary art centre focusing on promoting cultural exchange between Norway and East-Asia. Initiated by Ben Wenhou Yu and Yilei Wang, Northing supports artists from East-Asia living and working in Norway, through providing opportunities to develop projects and reach a local audience. Northing also strives for possibilities of head-on communication and collaboration between artists from Norway and East
Asia. Through its cross-disciplinary activities, including exhibition programs, publications, lectures and participatory events, Northing aims to enrich the diversity of cultural life in Bergen and the whole Norway. Currently, Northing has three primary functions: the exhibition venue Northing Space, the art book publisher and design studio Kinakaal, and the tiny art and design bookshop Elephanten.
Kinakaal is an art publishing house focusing on book design and conceptual books that are treated as works of art in their own right. Through Kinakaal, Northing seeks to explore the potential of the artist’s book as a physical object in a digital world, and to create new opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between East Asia and Norway. Kinakaal aims to facilitate direct contact and collaboration between East Asian and Norwegian artists and designers through art publications and design projects. Since its establishment, Kinakaal has won Årets vakreste bøker (The Year’s Most Beautiful Books) four times and received several international design awards. Each year, Kinakaal takes part in a number of art book fairs around the world to promote its exchange projects and to build bridges with books between Norway and East Asia.

    Sverre Zines

Sverres Zine is exploring the intersection of the generic and the unique: the matrix where the local meets the global. More specifically, I question whether our orientation to  materialism has paradoxically alienated us from materiality.

The previous issue «Not Alone" is a book composed entirely of found photographs, which psychoanalyzes the market adaptation of stock imagery. And the latest issue "Omsetning" launching at this year's festival, is a book with the audience's responses to "Not Alone».
