FFF and Fotogalleriet are hosting The Nordic Photographic Event Oslo 2016 (Week 37), an event initiated by the Nordic Photography Network. Together we have decided to engage a Nordic focus at this years Fotobokfestival Oslo. With help from our network partners we have invited agents from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Each country will curate their own exhibition of photo books in their separate containers at the festival venue at Youngstorget. Including an exhibition with the legendary Danish photographer Krass Clement (b. 1946) who has published photobooks since the 1970s.
During the festival we will also present the finalists from Nordic Dummy Award (NDA) and Dummy Award Kassel 2016. The winner of NDA will be announced during Oslo Culture night, 16 September. During our opening night on the 8th of September, Multipress will launch four new publications of their photobook series Angle 1-90, including to new posters. At Youngstorget we will also have a photobook shop, with a wide selection of international photobooks. In our photobook bar there will also be possible to buy refreshments during our opening hours.
Fotobokfestival Oslo 2016 collaborates with Fotogalleriet, MELK, Fotografiens Hus and Tronsmo bookstore. Each of these venues have developed a photobook related programme as part of this years festival.
